Our Employee Resource Groups

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are volunteer-based, employee-led groups that focus on shared experiences and interests based on an aspect of identity. They serve as safe and welcoming spaces for staff to build community but also play a significant role in many strategic aspects of workforce development and workplace improvement. Sotheby’s currently offers eight ERGs.

Asian Heritage and Advocacy ERG

The mission of AHA is to celebrate, support, and promote the diverse cultures and experiences represented by Asian employees, while breaking down stereotypes, growing mutual understanding, and fostering a workplace that values diversity, growth, and compassion.


Black Employee Resource Network for Equity & Change

The mission of Sotheby’s Black Employee Resource Network for Equity & Change is to foster networking, professional development, mentoring, and leadership opportunities with a focus on the recruitment, retention, learning, and advancement of Black people at the institution.


Celebr-ar-te ERG

Celebr-ar-te is a protected, safe, community-space for those who identify as Latinx/o/a/e, our allies, and colleagues, that builds greater understanding and awareness of the Latinx/o/a/e identity through which we break down identity stereotypes by showcasing and celebrating the rich diversity and complexities of the Latinx/o/a/e diaspora.

Pride @ Sotheby’s ERG

The Pride @ Sotheby’s ERG is a group of Sotheby’s colleagues, both those who identify under the LGBTQIA+ umbrella and trusted allies, serving the community within the company and the greater global artistic community, to visibilize the LGBTQIA+ history and impact on the world to colleagues and clients. The group creates a safe spaces for the community to learn and grow and break down barriers to entry for the full spectrum of queer and trans existence, currently not represented in the employee population.

Women’s Empowerment and Support (WESERG)

The mission of the Women’s Empowerment and Support ERG is to cultivate an inclusive community that raises awareness and empowers and supports all women at Sotheby’s, to develop talent and leadership potential through connection, mentorship, collaboration and discussion.

Working Caregivers ERG

The Working Caregivers ERG is composed of employees who are parents, children, spouses, siblings, and friends who, in addition to their employment, provide full time care for loved ones.  Because of this dual role, the Working Caregivers aims to create an environment that simultaneously maintains current talent while appealing to prospective staff, to raise awareness of their role internally, and incite cultural and administrative changes to improve personal health and well-being.

Wellness ERG

The Wellness Group shares the fundamental belief that by supporting each other we can be more successful both personally and professionally i.e. 'Stronger Together.’ We want to ensure that all employees feel supported and able to speak up if they are struggling with their mental health, recognising that not all struggles may be readily apparent in the workplace. We aim to do this in three key ways (1) raising awareness through events such as commemorating World Mental Health (2) providing resources through talks, training for Mental Health First Aiders, and more (3) building positive relationships within the group and effective networks of support through our trainedMental Health First Aiders.
