That is certainly true of The Connoisseur, and the lots herein are expected to generate excitement and demand throughout the global wine community as a result.
As we have come to know each other, it has become clear that this collector has a complete devotion to purchasing only from the best sources, and the frequency with which he is able to generously share older bottles that have clearly been outstandingly cared for, in excellent condition, is a testament to the focus with which this collection has been built. The vast majority of the bottles offered here were purchased directly from a very narrow selection of the world’s most reputable wine merchants, along with some from Sotheby’s most prestigious named Single Owner sales. In the process of inspecting these lots, we have seen original invoices across the board for all of these wines, an extraordinary testament to The Connoisseur’s dedication and record-keeping.
This is a very knowledgeable collector, who is serious about their wines, but is also clear that the most important facet of wine appreciation is generosity, and enjoying bottles in a low key, humble, and relaxed way.
