S otheby’s are excited to present our first UK spirits sale of the year lead by a selection of the finest and rarest Japanese whiskies.
The sale is led by two incredibly rare Highland Malts: The 58 year old Dalmore Selene, one of only 30 bottles ever produced, and The Macallan 56 Year Old Albert Watson 1946, one of only 36 bottles with a completely unique label from the Masters of Photography series. This is the first time this bottle has been seen at auction in over a decade.

Other highlights include The Macallan in Lalique 60 Year Old from the Six Pillars Collection, Highland Park 50 Year Old, Glen Moray 40 Year Old and Ardbeg 30 Year Old.
For this auction, Sotheby’s are delighted to have partnered with Rum producers Dictador to offer the very first opportunity to collect their inaugural Generations release. This Rum, distilled in 1976, is the first ever to be bottled in a Lalique decanter. Proceeds from this lot will benefit Art Masters, a charity focused on conservation in the Colombian jungle as well as the propagation of Street Art culture
The sale will close with 9 superlative Japanese whiskies from The Hakushu, The Yamazaki and Hibiki. Most notable of these is The Cask Of Yamazaki distilled in 1973 and matured for 29 years in Japanese Mizunara Oak before being released in a limited run of just 294 bottles.
