Auction Highlights
Selection of works in support of the International Rescue Committee to help those forced to flee their homes in Ukraine.
The sale of the 28 lots offered in this section will raise funds for vital work undertaken by the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in response to the crisis in Ukraine. The IRC's mission is to help people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster, to survive, recover, and gain control of their future.
The selection highlights 15 contemporary Ukrainian artists, including those who have donated their work directly, among them Oksana Mas, Nazar Bilyk, and Oleg Tistol. Several works in the sale are by the members of the so-called Ukrainian New Wave, a generation of artists who came to prominence during the period of perestroika and Ukraine’s Declaration of Independence in 1991. The sale also includes an etching by Pavlo Makov who is representing Ukraine at the 59th Venice Biennale. Eight international artists have also donated pieces, including Richard Deacon, Rachel Kneebone and Zadok Ben-David.
