S otheby’s Palm Beach is pleased to present the selling exhibition Alberto Giacometti & Pablo Picasso: A Modernist Legacy. The exhibition will present the extraordinary creative output of the two Modernist masters, in dialogue with their artistic contemporaries and successors to trace their indelible mark on art history. Featuring works as early as 1915, in which Picasso's early Cubist output influenced the younger Giacometti's early years in Paris, the exhibition traces Giacometti’s and Picasso’s extensive personal exchange in the following decades. Both remarkable and profoundly different artists, who attracted and strongly influenced each other, they would form an almost unexpected friendship that left behind a legacy that would define the course of art history up until today.
