  Set of 8 armchairs made by the legendary figure of American interior design during the 1940s, Elsie de Wolfe, for the press mogul Condé Montrose Nast’s penthouse on Park Avenue in New York. He published renowned magazines such as Vanity Fair, Vogue, The New Yorker, and House & Garden.

  French School, 20th Century, a Side Table, Estimate €8,000–12,000
  

  This console table belonged to the Count of Paris, his Excellency Henri D'Orléans (1908-1999), who employed it with a matching desk at the Coeur-Volant Manor in Louveciennes, France. According to family lore, he designed this furniture item himself and commissioned it to be crafted at Hermès company. We can see the Count of Paris working on his desk in a photograph dated 1956.

  This desk is illustrated in the auction catalogue of the collection of Count Philippe de La Rochefoucauld at the Château de Beaumont when it was sold by Park-Bernet in New York on 19 May 1951, lot 165. Gilt bronze platings were later added on the rosettes along the frieze’s corner cubes; they were then removed. This desk is depicted on an interior view of Alexandre Serebriakoff when it belonged in the collections of Nathaniel de Rothschild.

  A set of eight chairs from the property of Lord Colin Christopher Paget Tennant (1926-2010), Third Baron of Glenconner, on the island of Saint Lucia, Caribbean. He was famous for the parties he organized there that brought together aristocrats, jet-setters and show business stars.
