Description
The Octa model was created by François-Paul Journe in 2001 to offer an automatic timepiece that could possess multiple complications without compromising a reasonable size. Ever since its release, it has proven to be a great success, especially with the Octa Automatique Lune.
A significant element built into the Octa Automatique Lune’s movement was an optimized automatic winding mechanism. This new self-locking ball bearing system allowed the watch to wind itself with as little movement as possible, making it a more efficient timepiece on the wrist.
The present special edition was produced in 2014 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the French republic and the People’s Republic of China. This watch features a platinum case and blue dial with gold numerals, in addition to the France-China 50 logo stamped beside the watchmaker's signature. The timepiece is accompanied by its original presentation box and certificate of authenticity.
Condition Report
The watch is in very good condition. The movement is running at the time of cataloging, however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement.
