Introduced in 1972 and designed by Gerald Genta, one of watchmaking's most renowned designers, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak made history as the first stainless steel luxury sports watch. Its release was a strategic move to navigate through the quartz crisis, and the Royal Oak's remarkable success is often credited with ensuring Audemars Piguet's survival to this day.

Very GoodThe watch is in overall very good condition with light wear throughout commensurate with age. Case is in overall good condition with minor surface wear. Strap has minor signs of surface wear throughout commensurate with age. Dial is in overall good condition. The movement is running at the time of cataloging, however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement.
