Description
With an over 300-year history, DuBois et Fils began as a textile trading company. In the 1720s, Moise DuBois took leadership and began trading pocket watches by 1743. By 1751, DuBois et Fils began to produce their own watches and sold more than 110,000 pocket watches. Continuing on this incredible success, they transitioned to making wristwatches in 1910. DuBois is the oldest Swiss factory with a wide collection of high-quality timepieces. This is a rare timepiece of the elegant chronograph from the house of DuBois & Fils in a gold case. It features an aperture showing the date between 3 o'clock and 4 o'clock, a window located at 6 o'clock showing the moon phase, and a white dial with a legible Arabic number to tell time. Accompanied by a black crocodile strap.

GoodThe watch is in overall good condition with light wear throughout commensurate with age. Case is in overall good condition with scratches. Generic strap is in good condition. Dial is in overall good condition. Hands are in good condition. The movement is running at the time of cataloging, however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement. All watches sold in this collection are in their 'as found' vintage state and may include replacement parts or modifications.
