Description
The history of IWC began in 1868, when the American engineer Florentine Aristo Jones settled in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. The origins of the large, minimalistic case design for the Portofino can be traced back to the 1970s when the Lepine pocket watch became the inspiration for the entire watch family. "The pocket-watch-style" was presented in 1984 with the name "Portofino." Since then, this watch family, with timepieces that retain their value and, above all, remain timeless, has been a permanent part of IWC's collection.
This watch features a chronograph function with hours, minutes, seconds and day/date display. Convex sapphire glass, antireflective coating on both sides. This is an automatic watch 75320 caliber movement with 44 hours of power reserve. Circa 2021 with original box and paper.
Condition Report
The watch is in excellent, new condition. The movement is running at the time of cataloging, however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement.
