Introduced in 1972 and designed by Gerald Génta, one of watchmaking's most renowned designers, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak made history as the first stainless steel luxury sports watch. Its release was a strategic move to navigate through the quartz crisis, and the Royal Oak's remarkable success is often credited with ensuring Audemars Piguet's survival to this day. Since its debut, the Royal Oak has become the cornerstone of Audemars Piguet's collections, establishing itself as one of the most significant timepieces offered by the Le Brassus-based manufacturer. Over time, it has evolved into one of the most coveted watches on the market.
Reflecting its long association with top sports stars, this edition was released in 2002 in a run of only 450 pieces. Includes presentation non-Audemars Piguet box.
