Description

Japanese woodblock print from the Meiji period.

  • Depicting the marriage of the future Taishō emperor Yoshihito to noblewoman Kujō Sadako by artist Watanabe Nobukazu 渡辺延, also known as Yôsai Nobukazu 楊斎延 (Japanese, 1872-1944).
  • Nishiki-e, ink and color on vertical ôban.
  • Signature at lower left.
  • Museum placard on verso.
  • Black metal frame glazed with acrylic.
