Description
Michael Lau, known as the “godfather of designer toys,” is an important figure in the worldwide collectibles scene. Originating from Hong Kong, Lau is famous largely due to his talents in illustration and toy design. His work has had a significant influence on toy manufacturers, street culture, as well as other artists and musicians. Lau held his first solo painting exhibition at the Pao Galleries of the Hong Kong Arts Centre in 1993.
In celebration of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Michael Lau teamed up with Nike to design these highly unique and detailed SB Blazers. These Blazers are finished in a soft leather yellow upper with red shoelaces and sock liners. The pair features unique details such as "CHINA" on both tongues, a sun stitched on the sides and Beijing BMX 20-08 on the left and right heels. To complete the design, the back heel stitching replicates indented bike tracks.
Sticking with the theme, the pair comes in a special box that replicates a dirt brick.
The pair also comes with a vinyl biker toy, his bike and a graphic t-shirt.
