The University of Kentucky product was selected by the 76ers with the 21st pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. He played in 61 games as a rookie before having his breakout season the following year. In his second year, Maxey averaged 17.5 points, 4.3 assists, and 3.2 rebounds and helped the 76ers earn the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 51-31 record. Now in his third year with Philadelphia, Maxey continues to improve as his scoring average has eclipsed 20 points per game in the early months of the season. Many consider Maxey one of the brightest young stars in the NBA.
