<ul><li>One of 100 seven-speed manual gearbox V12 Vantage S’ built for the United States.</li><li>One of approximately 35 Roadsters equipped with the seven-speed manual gearbox.</li><li>Attractive Lighting Silver paintwork over Obsidian Black leather interior.</li><li>Fewer than 8,800 miles from new.</li><li>Serviced by an authorized Aston Martin dealer in May 2024; fewer than 100 miles since.</li><li>Amongst the most desirable variants of Aston Martin’s iconic V12 Vantage.</li></ul> A whopping twenty-eight variants of Aston Martin’s Vantage were produced within the car’s twelve-year production run, but the V12 Vantage S Roadster sits among the rarest and most desirable, especially when fitted with the dogleg seven-speed manual gearbox. While the model was initially introduced equipped only with Aston Martin’s Sportshift II transmission in 2013, the dogleg manual transmission option was announced three years later. Allegedly 351 seven-speed manual-equipped examples were built by Aston Martin in total, split between 91 roadsters and 260 coupes. Only 100 manual gearbox cars were earmarked for the US market, with 35 of those being roadsters. Completed by Aston Martin in August of 2016 for the 2017 model year, this Vantage S Roadster is one of those thirty-five cars equipped with the dogleg manual gearbox. Shipped new to its first owner via Miller Motorcars in Connecticut, it is finished in Lightening Silver over an interior trimmed in Obsidian Black leather. Over $11,000 in optional extras were selected, including red brake calipers, a second glass key, front parking sensors, full-length twill carbon facia trim, glass switches, and a polished aluminum fuel filler cap. Acquired by its first owner in September 2016, the car remained registered in New York for the first four years of its life, having covered less than 1,000 miles before it was acquired by the second registered owner in 2020. Purchased by the current owner in early 2023, it has been driven just 700 miles in his ownership showing less than 8,800 miles from new. With the current owner, it has been serviced twice by Long Island Sports Cars in Rosyln, NY, an official Aston Martin dealer. In April 2023, the car received a 6th year annual service and was fitted with an aluminum gear shifter (the original accompanies the car), and an additional annual service in May 2024. Since its last service, it has been driven less than 100 miles. At some point in prior ownership, the car’s original wheels were painted black, and the current owner replaced the previously silver center caps with black replacements (the originals will accompany the sale). Considered by many to be one of the best driving variants of Aston Martin’s Vantage in either V8 or V12 guise, the V12 Vantage S with the dogleg manual gearbox provides a visceral, analog driving experience coupled with the sophistication and comfort that one would expect from the Gaydon-era Aston Martins—a driving experience which is becoming increasingly prized in today’s market. With only 91 examples built, it is important to note that these cars are the only convertible V12 Vantages offered to the US market with a manual gearbox. This low-mileage example needs nothing but an enthusiastic owner ready to enjoy it on the open road.

V12 Vantage S Roadster 

<ul><li>Highly desirable ‘Monospecchio, Monodado’ configuration.</li><li>Finished in its original and exceptionally rare color combination of Bianco over Bianco leather.</li><li>European specification example, delivered new to the factory Ferrari dealer in Kuwait; US federalized in 2001.</li><li>Last timing belt service carried out by GTO Engineering in June 2023; fewer than 600 miles since.</li><li>Quite possibly the rarest Testarossa specification built.</li></ul> Popularized by appearances in&nbsp;Miami Vice, The Wolf of Wall Street,&nbsp;and&nbsp;Straight Outta Compton&nbsp;the distinctive Bianco livery turns the Testarossa, already a symbol of 1980s excess, into the poster car for a generation. As an early production example, the car offered here features the ‘Monospecchio’ a-pillar mounted single rear view mirror, alongside the ‘Monodado’ single-bolt wheels. Finished in the tantalizingly rare color scheme of Bianco over a matching Bianco interior, it was delivered new to Salem Ali Abdul Al-Sabah of Kuwait, a member of the Kuwaiti Royal Family, through Al-Baraha Company W.L.L., the official Ferrari importers of Kuwait. Factory records note that the Testarossa was delivered in December 1986. Three years later, the car was exported to Switzerland in June 1989. There, the car remained until being exported to the US in May 2001, showing just 25,080 miles at the time of importation according to the accompanying Carfax. Upon its arrival in the US, the Testarossa was sent to G&amp;K Automotive in Santa Ana, California to be federalized for US road use, with completion of the federalization work in September that same year. To ease registration in the US, the car was registered under the 1989 model year. In addition, the Testarossa was also fitted with front and rear indicators and a third brake light. Registered with its new US owner in Connecticut, the car would remain there until January 2020 when it was purchased by a new owner in Pennsylvania. Acquired by the current owner just a few years ago, the Testarossa has been well maintained in his ownership, primarily looked after by GTO Engineering in Los Angeles. The car received a minor service with replacement of the coolant hoses, oil change, and new brake fluid and front pads in January 2023. A few months later, a full engine out service with timing belt, rear main seal replacement, and a replacement of the differential carrier was undertaken in June 2023. Since the timing belt change, the car has been driven less than 600 miles. Today, the odometer shows just under 34,500 miles from new, which is believed to be the original mileage for the car following an odometer change from kilometers to miles during federalization. Additionally, it is important to note that the car is accompanied by its four original Monodado wheels, some original Testarossa marketing literature, a set of manuals, tool kit, jack, original key, Ferrari-branded car cover, and OEM Ferrari seat covers. Finally, enhancing the Testarossa 1980’s flair is a period-correct Nakamichi head unit with an A/D/S amplifier, making for the perfect acoustic partner to the exceptional soundtrack of the original and complete European-specification exhaust from the flat-twelve. Within Testarossa production, it is the earliest production cars, fitted with both the Monospecchio rear view mirror and Monodado wheels, that are the most collectible, not only for their rarity but the character that they add to the car itself. Additionally, with color becoming increasingly more important in today’s market, white will always remain the color of choice for those looking to purchase a Testarossa, especially when coupled with a matching white interior, a color combination that was very seldom specified when new, despite its near-universal retro appeal today. As such, this Testarossa stands out as one of the most desirable examples available today.

<ul><li>Amongst the Finest and Most Significant of all Veteran Cars.</li><li>Believed to be a unique survivor with known history from new.</li><li>Made in Lyon, France in 1904 and exported to the U.K. in 1967</li><li>Offered from thirty-three years of single ownership.</li><li>One of the most remarkable veteran-era marques, and a true rival to Mercedes</li><li>Has covered approximately 17,000 miles on over 100 veteran car rallies across the U.K. and Europe in its current ownership.</li><li>Asking: £690,000 GBP.</li></ul> One of the most celebrated marques of the Veteran and Edwardian period, the Rochet-Schneider was named after its founders, Edouard Rochet and his father, as well as Théophile Schneider. Founded in Lyon in 1889, the company started out building single-cylinder cars before the turn of the 20th century and Rochet-Schneider announced a range of two and four-cylinder cars in 1901 at the Paris Salon. Taking inspiration from Mercedes, as they were producing the most revolutionary cars of the time, Rochet-Schneider followed in their footsteps and the cars quickly gained a comparable reputation for durability, reliability, and speed. Whilst choosing not to get involved with city to city racing, Rochet Schneider had a formidable reputation in hill climbs, winning the ‘Tourisme de Nice’ and ‘Aix-le-Bains’ events. On offer here is an extremely rare, if not unique a unique survivor of the Model 2500 boasting the 16/22 HP 4.4-litre (100x140mm) four-cylinder engine, coupled to a four-speed gearbox with direct drive in top, and reverse. It had the most up to date pressed steel chassis, alongside five-seat side-entrance tonneau coachwork, which was the standard Rochet Schneider bodywork for 1904. The car was initially sold in 1904 through the concessionaires M.Decultil, who exclusively dealt directly with the Rochet Schneider clients in France. Meanwhile in the U.K., sales of Rochet-Schneiders were managed by Morgan Donne of Clerkenwell, with the 16/22 HP model costing a whopping £725, placing them firmly in the luxury automotive market of the day even above such names as Napier, and Panhard-Levassor. For 1904, the year the car on offer was constructed, 215 cars were said to have been built, with this being the 45th. Originally delivered to Charles J Henri Besombes of Villiers-le-Bel, a commune just north of Paris, chassis number 2545 later moved south to Rouen in 1908. By the 1940s, the Rochet-Schneider was under the ownership of Roger Pichon of Clères, a small town located approximately 25 km north of Rouen. The car would remain in the Pichon family, who were well-known collectors that kept the car in their museum, through 1967. That year, it was imported to the U.K. where it has remained ever since. Bob James imported the Rochet-Schneider into the U.K, purchasing the car out of France without bodywork but otherwise complete, and photos from his ownership are on file showing the car as it was delivered to him. Always remaining in the hands of passionate veteran car enthusiasts in the U.K. since its importation, the car passed through the hands of Denis Wright, Peter Agg, and the Tierra Blanca collection prior to its acquisition by the current owner in 1991. A well-known, U.K.-based veteran car enthusiast, in 1991, the current owner of the Rochet-Schneider has used the car as its manufacturers intended and it has appeared in over one-hundred Veteran car rallies across the U.K. and Europe over the course of his thirty-three years of ownership. Never shying away from an adventure, the car was sometimes driven to European events by road rather than being trailed, and on occasion it has been driven over 300 miles in one day, speaking to the car’s remarkable reliability and ease of use. Capable of achieving 50 mph on the open road, it can easily be driven in modern traffic. This year, it has participated in the Royal Veteran Car Club Belgium’s ‘1900 Autotocht’ rally, the Royal Automobile Club’s Summer Run, as well as the Rallye des Ancêtres in Compiegne. In total, the car has participated in the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run an impressive thirteen times. The owner confirms, it has always been maintained to the highest standards and is ready to be driven and enjoyed at a moment’s notice. The engine was fully rebuilt in 2003 and the car has done approximately 7,000 miles since. Furthermore, the veteran specialists at Jonathan Wood Ltd in Essex have carried out over £21,000 worth of servicing in 2019, which included further work on the engine, as well as the steering and transmission, as well as fitting new front wheels and tyres. In addition to the car’s sizable history file, also on file is a certificate of dating from the Veteran Car Club of Great Britian, number 1467 dated in 1969, a FIVA passport dated 2005, and a Vintage Sports-Car Club eligibility document dated 2011. The car retains a number of fabulous period correct accessories, including Rejna Hanardini &amp; Cie of Milan Brevetto self-generating acetylene parabolical oval headlights (type 55111). The oil side lights are Ducellier of Paris, with the rear brass oil lights by Oldfield Dependence. It is also fitted with a Dubrulle mechanical oiler (number 5734). During the Royal Automobile Club’s Summer Run this year, the consignor was accompanied on the rally in the Rochet-Schneider by RM Sotheby’s veteran car collector, auctioneer, and enthusiast Malcolm Barber. Commenting on the performance of the car, Barber stated, “this car performs as well as it looks; powerful, agile, easy to handle from steering to braking, to gear changing and general maneuverability. It is commodious, with that luxury feel of a quality, well-engineered, early veteran four-cylinder motorcar.” Real praise from an expert. Finally, in the case that a deal is agreed prior to Sunday, November 3rd, the current owner of the car has offered to drive the car alongside its new owner in the 2024 RM Sotheby’s London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, demonstrating the sheer usability of the car and offering a fantastic introduction to veteran car ownership. Described in a section of the 1903 book&nbsp;Cars and How To Drive Them, written by R. Denys Dunas, he summarizes the driving experience, specifically comparing it to a Mercedes by succinctly saying, “In short, in the country, this car answers my every possible requirement, and when in town I have the secret satisfaction of feeling that I am driving the very smartest looking car of all the cars that turn into the park”. The same can be said over 120 years later…especially upon turning into Hyde Park before dawn on the first Sunday of November.

Model 2500 16/22 HP Side-Entrance Tonneau

<ul><li>“UK 1” – The first RHD, UK registered 911 to be “Reimagined” by Singer Vehicle Design.</li><li>Used for promotional activities by Singer when new.</li><li>Shown by Singer at the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed.</li><li>Cover feature in the December 2015 issue of&nbsp;Evo&nbsp;magazine.</li><li>Just under 4,650 miles since the completion of Singer’s reimagining.</li><li>Asking: £845,000 GBP</li></ul> By 2015, Singer Vehicle Design had begun to establish itself within the Porsche marketplace as the go-to outfit for 911 “restomods.” The company mantra “Everything Is Important” could be seen in all of their work, from the exquisite carbon fiber bodywork to hand-built 3.8-liter flat-six engines, and the seemingly limitless possibilities for customization. The two-year wait list for a Singer spoke to their cars’ sheer desirability, and slowly but surely, Singers were starting to find their way into markets outside of North America. With founder Rob Dickinson being born and raised in Norfolk, building the very first 911 Reimagined by Singer to UK RHD specifications would have been an incredibly special moment. The realization of that dream is embodied in the very car offered here. Dubbed “UK 1,” this was the very first 911 to be reimagined by Singer in RHD specifications for the UK. Like all the early cars, it was fitted with the Cosworth-built 3.8-liter flat six-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, driving power to the rear wheels. Finished in Egg Yolk paintwork over a black leather interior, the car is fitted with comfort seats as well as rear seats, and a roll bar and is further optioned with a Becker stereo and navigation system. Upon arrival in the UK, UK 1 was retained by Singer for promotional activities. To many British enthusiasts, this would have been the very first 911 Reimagined by Singer that they had laid eyes upon, as it was driven by Marino Franchetti and Chris Harris for Singer up the hill at the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Later that summer, it was tested by Dickie Meaden for&nbsp;Evo&nbsp;magazine and featured on the cover of their December 2015 issue (issue no. 215). Meaden was besotted with the car from the outset, proclaiming in a YouTube feature that accompanied the editorial piece that “I had to choose one car, to own and drive from now until the day I die, it would be this.” High praise from one of the leading car journalists in the UK. Since its reimagining, this particular 911 has been driven just under 4,650 miles. With its current owner, the car was serviced by Heritage Auto Works in Berkshire, Singer’s official agent in the UK, in September 2023 and again in May 2024. It presents in excellent condition throughout and represents a significant moment in the history of what is arguably the leading Porsche “restomod” outfit.

911 Reimagined by Singer | Classic Study 

<ul><li>The fourth of just six "Speciale" examples built on the 330 GTC platform.</li><li>Delivered new to Sergio Pininfarina as a design study for GTC model development.</li><li>Benefits from numerous one-off features, namely pop-up fog lamps, plus several prototype features that were subsequently approved for production examples.</li><li>Extensive restoration in 2002; over $60,000 in mechanical refurbishment from 2022-2024.</li></ul> It is often said that a designer’s work is never done, and especially in the automotive world, as car design is often in a constant state of evolution. Only so much can be done to prepare a car for the real world before it hits production, but keeping up with the competition and changing tastes always bring designers back to the drawing board. Although Pininfarina was surely thrilled with their work for Ferrari in designing the 330 GTC, the firm was clearly keen to keep moving in the right direction for their most famous customer. As such, this 330 GTC was purchased by Pininfarina directly from the factory in July of 1966 for their own use. Showcasing their forward-thinking attitude, chassis no. 8727 falls exceptionally early in 330 GTC production, the fourth car built out of 600 completed in total. Upon its arrival with Pininfarina at their headquarters in Turin, only a few hours up the road from Maranello, the firm’s designers and craftsmen set about their carefully considered work. Externally, the most noticeable change implemented by Pininfarina to chassis no. 8727 was the pop-up fog lights fitted to the nose. Hidden away when not in use, they could easily be rotated into position by a switch inside the car. These “Supervis” (short for super vision) lights appeared on two of the four 330 GTC Speciales, and were originally penned by Aldo Brovarone for the Superfast I concept car and also famously used in the 365 California Spyder. Keen tifosi will also spot that this car lost its trademark 330 GTC fender vents, and instead boasts vents on the hood, which proved far more efficient at dissipating heat from the engine bay. This new feature, one introduced on this very car, also made its way to 365 GTC and 365 GT 2+2 production. Finally, the Ferrari badge on the nose was sunk into the bodywork, and the “330” badge on trunk was removed entirely. The interior was reupholstered in light blue cloth, cooler to sit on in Italy’s hot summers, with the color chosen to complement the car’s existing Blu Scuro paintwork, a shade known to be a favorite of Sergio Pininfarina himself. Cloth upholstery would later become an option on the 330 GTC as a result. The dashboard vents were changed to house two circular outlets on the top of the dashboard, allowing air to be directed wherever driver and passenger desired, a change that would be carried through to the 365 GTC. A new lever was fitted to open and close the quarter windows, along with a different steering wheel and hub, as well as a recessed ashtray in the center console, but these features would not appear in future production Ferraris. A passenger door lock was fitted and subsequently implemented on later 330 GTCs. After remaining with Pininfarina for a year, the 330 GTC was sold in July 1968 to Amerigo Brizzolara, an industrialist based in Milan, and passed through two more owners in its native Italy before being exported to the United States in the late 1970s, where it has remained ever since. Owned in the early 1980s by John Mason of San Francisco, the Ferrari was sold in September 1983 to California resident James Hampton, who in 1987 sold a fifty-percent interest in the car to John Ratto. Together, the two men set about researching the unusual 330’s history and embarking on a comprehensive restoration. This would be no easy feat, as by now chassis no. 8727 had lost its unique fog lamps and was finished in silver with black leather upholstery. By 1996, the engine and transmission had been rebuilt by Hampton and Ratto, but employment assignments overseas forced them to temporarily halt the refurbishment. Work recommenced in mid-1999 and coachbuilder Steve Moal was employed to assist in rebuilding the nose with new pop-up fog lamps, using a 365 California as a template. Pininfarina supplied the original paint code and the car was thus refinished in the original factory color of Blu Scuro and the interior retrimmed in tan, making for a highly attractive color combination. The car’s restoration was at last completed in 2002. After retaining the car for another six years following the completion of the restoration, the 330 GTC was sold by its owners into a significant collection in 2008. Later, it was featured in the August 2017 issue of Forza magazine in an article written by Maurice Khawam, who extensively detailed the car’s period modifications, showcasing why the car was so special and how it stood out from its brethren. Acquired by the current owner just under three years ago, the car was entrusted to the Ferrari specialists at Bob Smith Coachworks in Gainesville, Texas, where it received just over $60,000 in mechanical work over the course of two years, returning it to running and driving condition following a long period of static display in prior ownership. Invoices for this work are available in the history file. Boasting a fascinating history, this 330 GTC Speciale stands proud as one of the most important examples of the model in existence. Renowned for being exceptional drivers cars, this car’s added provenance and spectacular unique design touches would also make it a fantastic concours entrant, ideal for Ferrari Club of America judging, and it would surely garner much interest at Cavallino’s events and other concours events around the world. It is a GTC with few equals.

330 GTC Speciale By Pininfarina

<ul><li>Just two owners and less than 5,750 miles from new.</li><li>Equipped with all four factory options: McIntosh stereo, lightweight BBS wheels, grey-painted brake calipers and painted racing stripes.</li><li>Ford’s 100th anniversary supercar: The pace car for an entire company.</li></ul> Finished in arguably the most iconic of Ford’s available color schemes for the model, proudly wearing Centennial White with Blue stripes, this Ford GT is immediately recognizable as an icon of American performance and a celebration of Ford’s greatest success in motorsport. Upon its introduction, Ford dubbed the GT ‘The Pace Car for an Entire Company’ in its press releases and marketing material. Looking to take on the supercar establishment, the Ford GT was benchmarked against the likes of Ferrari’s 360 Modena and 911 Turbo. Yet, the GT handedly surpassed its superiors, such as the Challenge Stradale and GT3, both on the track in comparison tests and in the showroom in terms of price. In the case of this particular car, the original owner fully indulged in the limited range of extras, and this GT is equipped with all four factory options: McIntosh stereo, lightweight BBS wheels, grey-painted brake calipers, and painted racing stripes. According to its original window sticker, this GT was originally delivered to Island Ford of Staten Island, New York. Purchased by an owner in Chester County, Pennsylvania, the car remained there with its original owner until 2022 when it was purchased by the consignor, its second private owner from new. Well preserved in the consignor’s ownership, the GT has been driven approximately 100 miles in its current ownership, with total mileage showing just under 5,750 miles from new. The car presents exceptionally well throughout and was fitted with a new set of tires during the summer of 2023. A handful of minor modifications have been made to the car, including aftermarket headers, a different throttle body, and the catalytic converters removed. Both the original throttle body and catalytic converters will be included in the sale. Furthermore, it is accompanied by a window sticker, purchase documents, invoices, manuals, three-year service summary, recall information, and a transit permit. Some two decades after its introduction, the Ford GT remains one of the most iconic cars produced thus far into the 20th century, and is hotly desirable amongst supercar and American muscle enthusiasts alike. This GT wants for nothing and would be an exceptional addition to any collection.

Capable of tackling everything from the daily commute to a podium finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, diehard Porschephiles argue that there is no challenge a 911 cannot overcome; it is a paragon of design and engineering. Perhaps no company has celebrated the heritage of the air-cooled 911 with such obsessive attention to detail as California-based Singer Vehicle Design. Founded in Los Angeles in 2009, Singer has become globally renowned for bespoke restorations of Porsche 911 sports cars, each carried out on behalf of the car’s owner. Starting with a 964-generation car, the company painstakingly “reimagines” each example to create the equivalent of a “greatest hits” album of Porsche’s most iconic model. Singer’s restorations encapsulate “the delicacy of the ’63 original, the race-bred chic of the ’70s, the solidity of the ’80s, and the sophistication of the ’90s…reimagined in a singular jewel-like car.” Through the Classic restoration services, Singer customers could restore their vehicles with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive drivetrains, five- or six-speed transmissions, and a variety of high output hand-built engines. Their car is disassembled, leaving the original chassis, which is cleaned, prepared and strengthened before being fitted with carbon-fiber body panels, enabling significant weight reduction. From there, the sky is the limit for personalization. Each 911 reimagined by Singer is a bespoke creation tailored to the tastes of each specific owner, and thus no two of the company’s fiercely personal commissions are the same. The company’s quality, engineering and attention to detail have made their restorations nothing short of legendary. Many notable Porsche collectors, race car drivers and Hollywood celebrities count themselves among Singer’s customers, and their fervent proselytizing has drummed up a wait list which stretches years into the future. Dubbed the “Denmark Commission,” this Porsche 911 reimagined by Singer boasts a stunning and exceptionally well-considered and tasteful specification. Singer stopped accepting new orders in June 2022. Beneath the Denmark Commission’s attractive color scheme is a host of impressive chassis upgrades demanded by the commissioner’s exacting taste. Most notably, the car’s original tub has been completely seam-welded. At the car’s heart lies Singer’s hand-built, 350 rated horsepower, 3.8-liter flat six-cylinder engine from Ed Pink Racing Engines of Van Nuys, California. This remarkable powerplant retains the 964-generation block, while utilizing bespoke pistons, cylinders and cylinder heads, crankshaft, camshafts, connecting rods, oil pump, throttle bodies and intake systems. A speed-activated rear spoiler is integrated within the decklid by lightweight mounts. The Denmark Commission sends its power to the rear wheels via an optional six-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential. This reimagined 911 can decelerate just as quickly as it accelerates, thanks to the optional Brembo big brake upgrade package. Inside, a pair of optional eight-way electronically adjustable Recaro sport seats are trimmed by Singer’s team of master upholsterers with optional upgraded black woven leather/suede upholstery rendered with their fascinating hand-woven handiwork. This outstanding attention to detail extends through the cabin to a woven leather dashboard trim panel and black woven leather/suede lightweight door cards. The black anodized kick panels are nicely complemented by a matching drilled pedal set, black leather headliner and black leather dashboard—all of which visually tie in with the car’s nickel-plated cabin trim and polished Fuchs wheels. Additionally, this incredible Singer build features a modern air conditioning system, optional electric sunroof, Audison Hi-Fi audio system upgrade with removable subwoofer, and an optional adjustable Öhlins suspension system designed to Singer’s exclusive specifications. The current owner purchased this car in 2023 and performed an oil change and fitted fresh Michelin tires. Very few cars reimagined by Singer have become available in the secondary market since the company’s inception. This scarcity is further heightened by the fact that Singer closed the order books for its Classic restoration services nearly two years ago. 911 Reimagined by Singer

<ul><li>Owned by Alastair Pugh, Captain and Patron of the Frazer Nash Car Club for 31 years</li><li>Restored to its current configuration in 2018</li><li>Highly eligible for numerous vintage racing events, including the Mille Miglia and Le Mans Classic</li><li>One of only 48 Frazer Nash-BMW 328s exported to the UK</li><li>Valid FIA Historic Technical Passport until December 2027</li></ul> Considered by many to be the first "modern" sports car, BMW’s 328 was seemingly lightyears ahead of its competition. Unlike other German cars, which used steel rail chassis, BMW had perfected the design of lightweight tubular chassis with welded floors, allowing the use of softer springs and shock absorbers, and making cornering circuit lightning fast. Add to this the engine block and brakes from the BMW 326 and one had nearly reached perfection. The final touch came from a power boost via a completely redesigned cylinder head, which uses one lateral camshaft high on the left side, with valves inclined at 90 degrees and the spark plug in the center. Though more than 460 328 Roadsters were built by BMW, only a fraction made their way to the United Kingdom. Just 48 cars, accounting for approximately 10% of production, were imported via an agreement with AFN Ltd. As such, all cars sold in the UK were badged as Frazer Nash-BMWs. Chassis number 85411 was built as a right-hand-drive chassis according to Fraser Nash archives, and was one of a small cohort dispatched to Britain in June 1939 as the clouds of war gathered over Europe. Unsold by the start of the conflict in September, it was immediately seized by HM Customs and Excise alongside five others and remained impounded and unfinished until the conclusion of hostilities. Fascinatingly, it is said BMW was never paid for the cars as a result of war reparations. Finally released to AFN Ltd in 1946, the car was completed by the firm that same year, presumably using bodywork supplied from another 328, prior to being registered for the first time on 30 May 1946. The first owner of this 328 was Edwin Redwood of Cheshire, who was apparently an associate of the Aldington Brothers at AFN Ltd. The car moved to Ireland in subsequent ownership and was later repatriated by Tony Mitchell, who then sold it to Ken Whimster in 1976. Whimster was a well-known figure in Frazer Nash circles, being the former archivist of the BMW Historic Motor Club, so it makes sense that he would have known the car’s next owner, Alastair Pugh, quite well. Pugh bought chassis number 85411 directly from Ken Whimster in 1988, at which point it was finished in red with a black interior. Pugh was the Captain and Patron of the Frazer Nash Car Club, and as one would expect, had no qualms with using the car as its manufacturers intended, both on the road and on the track. The car was used by him frequently over the course of the next 30 years, primarily in VSCC events but also at larger gatherings including the Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb, Silverstone Classic, Goodwood Revival and the Le Mans Course du Centenaires event held prior to the running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Early on in Pugh’s ownership, the car was featured in two magazine articles: the 11 June 1992 issue of&nbsp;Country Life&nbsp;and the June 1993 issue of&nbsp;The Automobile&nbsp;magazine. An accident during the VSCC Pomeroy Trophy at Silverstone in 1996 led to a mechanical and cosmetic rebuild, with particular attention paid to ensuring that the car was rebuilt to period-correct specifications. Some modifications were made in the early 2000s, including the fitment of a half-height windscreen, twin-leading-shoe front brakes and a spare wheel well cover. Furthermore, the car was fitted with a Bristol gearbox for racing (while the original Hurth gearbox accompanies the car). In 2018, the 328’s bodywork received an extensive restoration and repaint at Mitchell Motors in Wiltshire and an engine rebuild by INRacing Ltd in Nottingham. This work totaled more than £31,000. Concluding their aforementioned article,&nbsp;The Automobile&nbsp;stated that they found this car to be “an exhilarating, beautiful, powerful, controllable sports car in every sense of the word.” Well-known for its exploits in vintage racing in the UK and perfectly suited to long-distance touring, this 328 would excel either back on track or on the open road.

Losing its doors and roof in favor of a surrey top and wicker seats, this was the perfect beachside transport in sunny locales across Europe, and still remains as the perfect port to town and back again transport nearly seventy years later. Powered by a 479 cc two-cylinder engine mated to a four-speed transmission, considering the car’s lightweight nature, the Jolly is more than capable of transporting the driver and a few friends to the beach and back in enviable style. Acquired by the current owner twelve years ago and said to have been delivered new to Los Angeles, it presents incredibly well, with its odometer showing 6,313 miles at the time of cataloguing. Approximately 200 miles have been covered in its current ownership. Arguably one of the cutest cars on four wheels, there’s nothing else that will put a smile on the face of drivers, passengers, and passersby like a Fiat Jolly.
