Description

American Federal rectangular cherry wood dressing stand with a scroll terminal splash made in Philadelphia.

  • Supported by four curly maple dies and turned legs.
  • Shelf stretcher mounted on shallow rails morticed into blocking of legs.
  • Button feet.

The stand has been refinished in shellac and both the joints and apron have been cleaned and re-glued as necessary.

The single board top, constrained by the apron frame and splash, had a medial shrinkage crack which has now reset and been stabilized.
