Description

Large Japanese Meiji 明治 silver iris goblet.

  • Retailed by Kuhn & Kumor 康茂洋行.
  • Oval bowl with irregular rim on tall cylindrical shaft flowing into raised and scalloped foot.
  • Spout hammered ground with double wall.
  • Applied iris and chrysanthemum flowers and blossoming branches.
  • Wire stem with flower head and bud wrapped around shaft.
  • Mount Fuji-form mono plate (vacant).
  • Kuhn & Komor was a Hungarian retailer with shops in Yokohama and Shanghai.
  • Japanese marks and “Kuhn & Komor / Sterling.”
