Talia Levitt (American, b. 1989).
This work is offered unframed.
Talia Levitt is an American painter who studied at The Rhode Island School of Design and Hunter College, NY. Levitt’s primary subjects in this series consist of a mysterious collection of objects that are scattered on the surface of the canvas like reflections. Levitt employs a clever painterly technique to give the impression of a quilted surface. The objects on the canvas reference the artist's memories, family, her other works, and historical figures.
Just like a cabinet of curiosities, superimposed images open countless interpretations of the visual dynamic and invite the viewers into patchworking the collection into imagined stories.
