Ricardo Partida is a Chicago-based artist who attended The School of The Art Institute of Chicago.
A queer artist, Partida's work depicts his idealized concept of "Fag Fatale," an effeminate man which threads issues around gender and identity. Despite his compromising body position, the subject draws power from this depiction while looking directly back at the viewer. Playing with ideas around sexuality, Partida's paintings often draw attention to "the gaze" towards the unconventional, and honors these bold alter egos.
