  • Bound in full contemporary tree calf, neatly rebacked, preserving original red morocco spine labels and with later black leather volume labels.


A "Paternaster-Row piracy" based on the revised Harrison edition of 1773. Includes an appendix of words omitted by Johnson and a short Life of Johnson at end of vol. II. Fleeman notes a possible Irish influence in the appendix with the inclusion of words such as "Oh-hone" and "Whiskey"
