Description
Kentucky Tavern 15 Year Old 100 Proof 1917
Distilled in the Fall of 1917, bottled the Spring of 1933, ullage: mid shoulder, front label worn and soiled, original carton very slightly damaged
Kentucky Tavern bourbon originated in the late 19th century at the Monarch Distillery in Owensboro, Kentucky. Not only did it survive the distillery’s purchase by James Thompson in 1901, but it became a flagship brand of his new operation, renamed the Glenmore Distillery. The whiskey in this bottle, distilled in fall 1917, did not leave the barrel until spring 1933, nearly 15 years later – making it not just a historical artifact but likely a delicious whiskey as well.
This bottle is significantly ullaged, which is not unusual for bottles of this age. Please refer to images for levels and conditions
