Two related pairs of Louis XVI wall lights that share the unusual chased oval medallion on the nozzles and drip pans are in the château de Fontainebleau south of Paris, supplied by the antique dealer Legendre in 1804 for the bedroom of the Emperor Napoleon and separated shortly thereafter, with one pair sent to the salon of Napoleon's mother Madame Mère in 1807 and the other recorded in the bedroom of Napoleon's brother Louis, King of Holland, in 1810 (Jean-Pierre Samoyault, Musée National du Château de Fontainebleau. Pendules et bronzes d'ameublement entrés sous le Premier Empire, Paris 1989, no.91 p.126)
