Today, George Simonds is best known for The Falconer, a large bronze sculpture that resides in Central Park, New York. Other works by the artist include allegorical marbles, similar to the present pair, the World War I Memorial in his adopted town of Bradfield, U.K. and the Maiwand Lion, a monument to the second Anglo-Afghan War, which is in Forbury Gardens Park, Reading.
