Most of the works center around the human figure, portraits in particular, which created a lively and interactive atmosphere throughout his homes. The collection consists of a wide range of styles and time periods, from early Netherlandish portraits such as the elegant depiction of Margaret of Austria and Ambrosius Benson’s Mary Magdalene Reading, to French and English portraits of the 18th century, like those by William Bougereau and George Romney, but Mr. Tavitian’s discerning eye for beauty, quality, and condition is consistent throughout.
