The 2006 NBA Championships marked the Miami Heat's first NBA Championship in franchise history, defeating the Dallas Mavericks in a dramatic 4-2 series victory. The Heat were led by Shaquille O'Neal and a breakout performance from Dwyane Wade, who was named Finals MVP. The series is particularly memorable for Wade's incredible Game 3 performance, where he scored 42 points, and for Miami's comeback after being down 2-0 in the series.
The Miami Heat have won 3 NBA championships: in 2006, defeating the Dallas Mavericks; in 2012, beating the Oklahoma City Thunder; and in 2013, overcoming the San Antonio Spurs.
