Sotheby’s is pleased to present our 19th-Century European Art auction, featuring a number of Belle Époque masterpieces, including a magnificent beach scene by Édouard Toudouze, landscapes and scenes of rural life by leading Barbizon painters Jules Breton, Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot, and Léon Lhermitte, as well as Neoclassical figures and sketches by William Bouguereau, Daniel Ridgway Knight, John William Godward, and Eugen von Blaas. The auction will also include exquisite genre and maritime scenes by leading Netherlandish, Italian, Spanish, and British painters.
Effective May 20th, 2024, Sotheby's has lowered its Buyer's Premium rates and removed Overhead Premium for all categories excluding Wine & Spirits. Sotheby's Overhead Premium will only be charged for Wine & Spirits lots. Please refer to the Conditions of Business located on the relevant sale page for the updated rates.
