Description

rectangular, each face enamelled en plein with roses, chrysanthemums, dianthus, tulips, convolvuluses and stylised flowers with translucent dark green basse-taille leaves, on a gold ground engraved with stippled and differently-reeded zig-zag bands, framed by dramatic dark blue basse-taille enamel scrolls, their outlines repeated in the adjacent gold engraving, maker's mark, charge and discharge marks of Julien Berthe (1750-1756), Paris date letter n
