Manual of the Natural History, Geology and Physics of Greenland and the Neighbouring Regions: Prepared for the Use of the Arctic Expedition of 1875, under the direction of the Arctic Committee of the Royal Society. London: George E. Eyre and William Spottiswoode, 1875. 8vo. 3 folding charts. Original printed cloth flexible boards; cloth spotted. The first edition of the scientific manual prepared for the Nares expedition.


[And:] MacGahan, J.A. Under the Northern Lights. London: Sampson, Low, Marston, Searle, & Rivington, 1876. 8vo. Folding map, 7 plates and numerous text illustrations, publisher's catalog at end; few leaves softly creased. Publisher's green pictorial cloth, gilt-stamped device of Northern Lights to upper cover, spine gilt; very minor rubbing to cloth. Slipcase. First edition of this scarce account by a journalist aboard the Pandora.
