A so-fukurin kabuto [helmet]
Edo period, 17th century
the black lacquer bowl with copper-gilt raised ridges, copper-gilt three-tiered kanemono, engraved copper fukurin, the turnbacks decorated in leather with silver mon, four-tiered lacquered leather shikaro, lacquer maedate, silk and linen lining.
The bowl to peak: 27 cm., 10⅝ in.
