The Yacht-Master is the youngest member of Rolex's sport watch family, joining legendary models like the Submariner, GMT-Master, and Explorer. Launched in 1992, it quickly became a distinctive presence in the Rolex lineup. In 2007, Rolex introduced the Yacht-Master II, a professional-grade sport watch designed for sailors, featuring a programmable regatta timer with mechanical memory and a Ring Command bezel.
Since its debut, the Yacht-Master II has remained largely unchanged, maintaining the classic design introduced in the mid-2000s. The original references—116688 in 18k yellow gold with a blue ceramic bezel and 116689 in 18k white gold with a platinum bezel—were complemented by the addition of the Everose Rolesor version seen here (ref. 116681) in 2011.
Recently discontinued, this particular Yacht-Master II is part of the GOAT Collection and was acquired by Brady during a 2018 trip to Qatar.
