painted with four flowering branches of indianische Blumen in the centre extending from a gilt scrollwork band with Böttger lustre panels at the cavetto, the rim reserved with four shaped panels of Chinoiserie figures at various pursuits within lustre filled frames alternating with groups of three stylized flowerheads, the reverse with two large trailing branches of indianische Blumen, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue

Cranfield University used non-invasive X-ray fluorescence (XRF) for this lot to screen the green enamel for chromium, which was not detected, a result consistent with 18th century manufacture.
