Le portrait français en Italie, Rome and Milan, 1962 (as per a label on the reverse).
The composition is partially based on the Portrait of Christoph Willibald Glück by Joseph-Siffred Duplessis, dated 1775, now at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna (oil on canvas, 99,5 × 80,5 cm; inv. Gemäldegalerie, 1795).
