Description

The rectangular polished gold case engraved with the names Margarethe Marie, Nadejda, Albrecht Eugen, Philipp Albrecht and Albrecht, the push piece set with a cabochon sapphire, the interior engraved 13. Juni 1877/1927, pouch stamped Koch.

Ulrich, Duke of Württemberg (1877-1944)

Ulrich, Duke of Württemberg (1877-1944) received this cigarette case as a fiftieth birthday present on 13 Juni 1927. The names of the givers are recorded on the case: Ulrich’s brother Albrecht (1965-1939), his nephews Philipp Albrecht (1893-1975) and Albrecht Eugen (1895-1954), his niece Margarethe Marie (1902-1945) and Albrecht Eugen’s wife Princess Nadejda of Bulgaria (1899-1954).
