The title Tamerlan very probably refers to an establishment in Berlin that was owned by Russian emigrants. After the Revolution many Russians moved to Germany and especially to Berlin. Tamerlan was the name of a Mongolian ruler (1336 - 1405) who conquered lands in present Turkey, Iran, India and the Russian Caucasus.
