Provenance
Generously donated by Eon Productions to support BAFTA.
Released to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the film 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' (1969), this limited edition set, numbered 163 out of an exclusive 257, commemorates one of the most poignant and beloved installments in the James Bond franchise.
'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' signalled a sea change as the first Bond film without Sean Connery and the first and only James Bond played by George Lazenby. The film is also significant in the canon as one of the most faithful to its source material, and the only one in which James Bond falls in love and marries. The famous and final line in the film, "We have all the time in the world," is spoken by a heartbroken Bond after his new wife, Tracy (played by Dame Diana Rigg), is killed as the couple depart for their honeymoon. This scene, its dialogue, and accompanying music, illustrated an emotional depth and humanity to the character of James Bond not explored previously or in many films after.
Omega's celebration of what is widely regarded to be one of the best films of the iconic franchise includes a "secret" number 50 hidden in the 10 o'clock index in reference to its historic anniversary, as well as the film's most famous line and the Bond family crest on the back.
