Laren, Singer Museum, Oude Tekeningen uit de Nederlanden. Verzameling Prof. E. Perman, Stockholm, 1962, cat. 149 (as Pieter de With)

The village of Alsemberg is located in Flemish Brabant, some 10 kilometres south of Brussels.

Though there is some resemblance to certain drawings given to the Rembrandt pupil Pieter de With (1625-1689), the comparisons are not compelling, and the location of the view would also seem to preclude the traditional attribution to the artist, who is not known to have travelled to the region of Brussels. In fact, the drawing seems much more Flemish in character, perhaps by an artist close to Jan Wildens (1584/86-1657).
