Very typical of Vimercati's graphic style in the strong and vigorous use of the red chalk, the present drawing can be compared with several others by the artist, in Venice and Milan.1  Vimercati was most probably a pupil of Ercole Procaccini the Younger (c.1605-1680) and his style was profoundly influenced by the work of Daniele Crespi (1598-1630).
