The reference 10, introduced in 1917 and produced until 1932, represents one of Patek Philippe's earliest wristwatch models from that era. Originally known as the ‘Model 10’, it was introduced before the brand adopted the 3 and 4 digit reference designations. Subsequent to 1932, the model took on the reference 431 and remained in production until 1946.
Characterized by its oversized and curved case, as well as its expressive and expansive dial, the watch exuded elegance and sophistication. The Stern Frères dial, a hallmark feature, boasted exquisite detailing across its many iterations, including applied Breguet numerals, exploded printed numerals, and notably, luminescent Arabic numerals. The current watch, with exploded printed luminous numerals, a center minute scale, and luminous cathedral-style hands, is further enhanced by the lack of subsidiary seconds, enhancing the simplicity and cleanliness of the design execution.
The case of the reference 10 was crafted as a large, two-piece case with a subtle curvature to conform comfortably to the wearer's wrist. Its refined design epitomized the bold spirit of the "Roaring Twenties," effortlessly displaying the time with a touch of timeless style.
