In 2004, ten years after the brand's reintroduction, A. Lange & Söhne released their first interpretation of the perpetual calendar, a revered complication in the world of horology. This new model, named the Langematik Perpetual, was unmistakably infused with Lange's signature DNA. Built on the renowned Sax-O-Mat movement, it featured the innovative zero-reset mechanism, where the seconds hand resets to zero when the crown is pulled, allowing for fast and precise time setting.
True to A. Lange & Söhne’s distinctive style, the Langematik Perpetual became the world's first automatic perpetual calendar to feature an oversized double-digit date window—an iconic design element that had been integral to the brand's identity since the launch of the Lange 1, and later reinforced by the Datograph. Additionally, the watch included a pusher at the 10 o'clock position, similar to that on the Datograph, which allowed for the simultaneous adjustment of all calendar functions—an incredibly practical feature in case the watch lost power.
With the Langematik Perpetual, A. Lange & Söhne made a bold entry into the realm of perpetual calendars, leaving no detail overlooked in making the timepiece uniquely theirs. Practical, user-friendly, and brimming with the craftsmanship of Glashütte, this model stands out as one of the most elegant and functional perpetual calendars available.
