Ulysse Nardin was founded in 1846 and is renowned for its accurate marine chronometers. In 2016, the brand introduced the Marine Grand Deck, which combined maritime inspiration with a tourbillon complication. The standout feature of the watch is the blued aluminum retrograde minute hand that resembles a ship's boom, controlled by a patented system of transparent nanowire strings and pulleys. The minute indications are displayed along a blue spinel arc. The watch also features a jumping hour mechanism and a 60-minute flying tourbillon - only 18 pieces were produced, with a retail price of over USD 300,000, making it a distinctive and sought after timepiece for sailing and watch enthusiasts.
