Introduced in 1942, two series were identified for the the reference 1527, the first series with subsidiary seconds carrying the calibre 12'''120, and the second series with centre seconds empowered by the 12-120 SC. Usually made in pink and yellow gold, not more than a dozen examples were cased in stainless steel. The present example is such one in steel with indirect centre sweep seconds. It achieves an attractive balance between the white metal case and two tone silvered dial, perfectly exhibiting the merits of what a vintage Patek Philippe watch should be.
Exceedingly rare, the present watch is possibly the only example of steel appearing to the public market, last seen on auction in 2018.
