Patek Philippe reference 1526 was the firm's first perpetual calendar made in a series and was introduced in 1941 and discontinued in 1952. Approximately 210 pieces were ever made, the majority in yellow gold and a low number in pink and only 1 in stainless steel. The reference can be identified in different generations based on the subsidiary dial at 6 o'clock. First generation models have a double circle around the aperture for the moon phases, indicating constant seconds and the other for the date. The dial displays Arabic numerals and dot indexes.
The present watch is in attractive overall example with strong hallmark under the lug. The case with only minor polishing and the dial has a very crisp and clean look with minor restoration.
