of ingot shape, the lid centred with a chased oval medallion representing an allegory of love, in a polished oval frame, on an engine-turned ground cleverly decorated with wavy bands overlaid with a stylised lozenge pattern, within lemon gold chased borders on a sablé ground, the sides and base similarly decorated, maker’s mark flanked by tiny sprig marks, in an associated red leather case stamped for S.J. Phillips Ltd, London
