Description

tapering form, the sides decorated with shaped gold cartouches chased in high relief with Diana and Apollo against a sunburst ground, framed by scrolls, on a shagreen ground applied with small gold flowerheads, the hinged lid chased with rocailles and further flowers on a sablé ground, fitted with a suspension loop, the sides elaborately chased with floral bands, small pushpiece, reeded gold footrim below a classical mask framed by scrolls, the interior complete with implements including scissors, tweezers, an associated gold and tortoiseshell folding knife, the writing slips now removed
