concave profile; foliate S-scrolled top edge above a rectilinear back, the ends of the scrolls forming projecting corners on large acanthus leaves, the bottom corners with inner rocailles; the lateral centres parted by acanthus leaves and depending single sprays of roses and leaves, with further rose sprays at the upper demi-centres; the base with acanthus centres; the upper centre with a cushion on a fringe of leaf-tips, which is missing the crown or coronet it would once have held; the sight edge formed of astragals ending in alternating small scrolls, three to each rail
