Description
Château Pichon Longueville, Lalande 2000
Pauillac, 2ème Cru Classé
Excellent levels, 1 label very slightly soiled, lid replaced with cardboard, packed in plain outer
Like a glühwein on the nose - so aromatic and intoxicating. Cocoa, spices, richness and glycerol. Fabulous - like a liqueur. It just gets better and better. At 11 years old, this has a glorious Pauillac, cedarwood nose of perfect classicism. Smooth as silk on the palate, with delicious mocha and red fruit flavours. Beautifully-bred, Super Second Bordeaux, with a meaty finish. Serena Sutcliffe, MW

Provenance:
A stunning collection of the finest names from Bordeaux and Champagne, completed by iconic properties from Italy, Spain and California. Opening with impressive quantities of First Growths from the 1990s and early 2000s, the selection continues with the famed Super Seconds and seamlessly moves to the most notable names in Graves, such as La Mission Haut-Brion from the 1990s, and finally to the Right Bank. The red Bordeaux is complemented by a wonderful offering of the rare Haut Brion Blanc, in a range of vintages. Champagne is well represented by the most admired Maisons, including Krug, Louis Roederer and Taittinger. The entire collection was stored in a temperature and humidity-controlled home cellar in Switzerland until inspection and removal by Sotheby’s team.
