The Caliber L921, commonly known as the Sax-O-Mat, is the result of 5 years work and the genius of the now retired movement designer Helmut Geyer. Introduced in 1997, the Sax-O-Mat was Lange’s first automatic movement. In fact the name of the caliber refers to its Saxon origins (Sax), that it has a zero reset function (O) and that it is automatic (Mat). Available in two variants, with or without the iconic large date complication, this movement showcased a whimsical zero reset mechanism. When the crown is pulled, the seconds hand swiftly returns to zero, facilitating precise time setting. Even today, the caliber L921 is the automatic movement to have from A. Lange & Söhne. The reference 308.025 is offered with a platinum case and an elegant silvered dial.
