Madonna and Beeple collaborated on a triptych entitled Mother of Creation. A labor of love a year in the making, the two artists partnered to explore the ideas of creation and motherhood through this visual medium.

Over the past four decades, Madonna has shared her artistic vision through music, film, dance, and writing. As a mother of six, she strives to use her platform and artistic reach to raise awareness and influence change on critical issues affecting women and children, while giving a voice to those who have historically been marginalized.

“When Mike and I decided to collaborate on this project a year ago, I was excited to have the opportunity to share my vision of the world as a mother and an artist, combined with Mike’s unique point of view,” states Madonna. “It’s been an amazing journey, building this together from an intellectual idea into an emotional story, giving birth to art. I wanted to explore the concept of creation—not only the way a child enters the world through a woman’s body but also the way an artist gives birth to creativity. Most importantly, we wanted to use this opportunity to benefit mothers and children who are most in need right now.”

BEEPLE

Mother of Evolution, touches on the metamorphic journey of butterflies, one of nature's most beautiful creations and a symbol of hope. The butterflies serve as a metaphor for the paradox of a world burning down in a post-apocalyptic scene, yet still showing signs of life. The message is clear: despite destruction and oppression, creation persists. It emphasizes the importance of creating art not in perfect conditions but as a means of survival in a chaotic, unpredictable world. The work features lyrics from Madonna’s iconic song Justify My Love and original music by Igor Bardykin.
