2004
Tony Parker served as the primary point guard for the San Antonio Spurs for the majority of his career. During his prime, Parker played a pivotal role in the Spurs’ four NBA championships. In 2007, Parker's standout performance earned him NBA Finals MVP honors, as he led the Spurs in scoring during their series against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
A six-time NBA all-star, Parker's remarkable court vision and knack for breaking down defenses to create scoring opportunities for his teammates resulted in his Hall of Fame induction in 2023.
Originally released in 1985, Nike introduced the Nike Dunk as the premiere basketball sneaker in college basketball. The colorways for the series were based on successful programs around the nation. Kentucky, Michigan, UNLV, Syracuse, St. John’s, Villanova, and Iowa all received their own signature shoe. The 1985 Nike ads featured the sneakers with a tagline ‘Be True to Your School’ giving fans an opportunity to support their team from head to toe.
During his career, Nike released a number of “Tony Parker” Nike Dunks, honoring the NBA Champion. However, this particular Nike Dunk Low “Tony Parker” never saw a global release.
Dressed in a predominantly white leather upper, the pair features a silhouette of Parker, embroidered on the heel. On the tongue, Parker’s number 9, and “Tony Parker Official Signature Collection” are featured, adding to the rarity.
