unframed: 37.1 x 32 cm.; 14⅝ x 12⅝ in.

Probably Thomas Agnew & Sons, Valuation for insurance of the pictures and drawings, the property of the most Honourable the Marquess of Anglesey, at Uxbridge House, St. James' Square, Plas Newydd, and 8 Lees Mews, 2 February 1910, as at Uxbridge House, no. 27 (as School of Netscher) (Bangor University Archives and Special Collections, PN/IX/3198).

This painting is closely related to a larger portrait of Scott, on canvas, alternatively given to Willem Wissing (1656–1687) or his studio, which was previously with Philip Mould, London, and is now in a private collection. Another version given to Wissing's studio is in the collection at Chequers Court, Buckingham.
